Happy New Year!

Its the new year and today I had my first lesson back on my sweet Willough after her neck injection a week or so ago then she got a short break followed by some light riding from our dear Lauren (Saras assistant trainer). Her school report from the trainers was pretty much 'did as asked but is an overachiever' hehe. Light work, she laughs in the face of light work (bwahaha)....

Well she was awesome today... Also awesome at testing my seat and showing off as she spooked and jumped around. Knowing Miss W,  I am pretty sure she was telling me that she feels real good, also maybe a little of how mad she is that I was away from the barn (and not riding her for the whole of the last week). I mean, I can be honest and tell you, I didn't have the best brakes today (she was a little bit on fire)!  And it has taken me a good year or so, but I trust her now, she isn't doing it to deck her person, it's just her way! So (and maybe falsely so) I feel safe and happy enough when she is like that, that I spent half my lesson giggling like a child (which by the way, I am also pretty sure she was offended by: she takes her job so seriously). Nic my darling husband watched her antics kindly laughing at her antics, clearly not in the least bit worried about his darling wifes safety, entertainment wins out every time, clearly.

On another note I got to meet my mentor (via Zoom) this week for Flying Changes Coaching! Her name is Emma and she owns 'Sparky' a gorgeous PRE stallion whom she rides in dressage and Working Equitation. We had a fun call and got to know each other- all the while I could drool at her background image (which was Sparky). I feel like I am talking about Sparky a lot haha, but he is gorgeous, and Spanish- in fact here is his Facebook Page, go like it and you will see why I was drooling. Ooo actually while you are at it go and like the Flying Changes page too, the videos, tips,  interviews etc etc that Jenni posts are fantastic- lots of free learning available on there so totally worth your time.

So, bye bye from Colorado. I am off to finish this blogging, whilst cooking dinner for my boys, prepping the dogs dinner and doing a ton of other 'half jobs' which I will forget to finish off tonight and find them all half done still tomorrow...
